My favorite food

What is your favorite restaurant?

I used to have several favorite foods, and with those favorite restaurants that with them. Seafood was easy, the best restaurants near the Gulf. Mexican food took me to Varettas in Florida and Karichamakas in Tucson, AZ. I wasn’t keen on Italian, but I loved a little restaurant called Angels, in Brandon, FL that had the best white pizza ever.

Food, now is something that I no longer get to enjoy. I don’t eat out at restaurants.

I have Gastroparesis. Severe in such a way that I’ve had a PEG tube inserted. I don’t cook anymore. It’s no fun. I dream of going to restaurants again. Dream about what I’d order. Knowing I’d be throwing it up later. My stomach doesn’t digest food. I have to be so careful about what I even do get to eat. Everything is a toss up. Literally. The majority of my nutrition goes through the PEG tube.

Ironically, I’ve been in the hospital since last Monday because my PEG tube area is infected. It has taken quite a few days to narrow down the type of infection and then the doctors were able to use more appropriate antibiotics to help clear it up.

The PEG tube is in the upper stomach, and my doctor has decided he wants to put in a J tube that will practically bypass the stomach as I still continue to throw up way too much. The Gastroparesis is that severe.

So favorite restaurant? I must say, I do like the milkshakes from Culver’s.
